About me…

Susie Smallridge

L’atelier Enchanté is a small business owned by me, Susie Smallridge. My sewing projects are created from repurposed fabric such as old duvet covers, curtains, clothes or anything that was making its way to landfill. I source all my fabric from charity shops, friends, family or local ‘free to a good home’ sites. So, you can safely say you have a one of a kind piece to give as a present or to buy for yourself, no two items are the same size shape or design.

Prices: I try to keep my prices to a minimum as I want to enable everyone to own a unique, handmade item, at an affordable price. I price my items by design rather than per item. For example, for a tote bag; the same time has gone into making it whether the fabric is velvet, cotton hessian or linen and I source the fabric for the minimum I can. This enables me to keep my items priced realistically, whilst still enabling me to pay cotisations, buy more fabric and give me a little income to be able to maintain our wonderful home here in the Charente. I create all of my designs from a lovely room at the back of our home, so each item is truly handmade.

Gift Wrap: If you would like to have your purchase gift wrapped this is something I am happy to do. I use recycled paper, and only ask that once your item has been unwrapped, please reuse the paper, even if it is to light your fire… every little helps to save our planet.
